The Centre for Migration Medicine (CMM) came into existence to coordinate the medical examination process for the US Embassy and Consulates, and subsequently the High Commissions of Australia, Canada, UK and New Zealand in India. It began with US immigrant medical examination in October 2009 and is now the Panel Clinic for US, Canada, Australia, UK and (recently) New Zealand.
The Centre for Migration Medicine (CMM) ensures quality and integrity in the entire process. The laboratory and radiology procedures were done earlier at Vijaya Diagnostic Centre, Himayatnagar with which CMM had come to an agreement. As space constraints were evident along with the need for focusing on this fledgling field of ‘Migration Medicine’, a dedicated clinic space was conceived for a more integrated process.
